Ariel Goodwin

I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at Cornell University where I am fortunate to be advised by Adrian Lewis, before which I completed my B.Sc. at McGill University in Joint Honours Mathematics and Computer Science. I do research in continuous optimization, and am specifically interested in the development of theory and algorithms for solving optimization problems on non-Euclidean spaces. Often this combines tools from convex analysis, metric geometry, and algorithm design, and I am interested in applications of these methods to problems in data science.
